MYSORE, India - The long-awaited house for the senior confreres of the Indian Vice-Province was blessed by Father Peter MASCARENHAS, SMM, the Provincial of Indian Vice-Province on 20 April 2022. It was providence for the Indian Province to have such a house to care for the elderly and sick priests with love.
Rumah yang baru direnovasi ini terletak di bawah bukit Chamundi di Mysore, negara bagian Karnataka, India. Rumah ini jauh dari kebisingan kota, kaki bukit kecil memiliki keindahan yang unik dan alam hijau subur yang membuat suasananya sangat tenang dan tenteram. Pada hari-hari sebelumnya, ini adalah Rumah Peternakan dan kemudian digunakan sebagai Rumah Novisiat, Rumah Provinsi dan sekarang diubah menjadi rumah imam senior. Saat ini, rumah ini memiliki sembilan kamar dan kapel, ruang rekreasi, ruang makan, dan dapur (dengan ruang penyimpanan).
On 20th April 2022 at 12 pm, the house was blessed and the first entry was made by Father Norbert LOBO, SMM, our senior priest by cutting the ribbon as sign of official opening ceremony. This was witnessed by some of our Montfortian priests, sisters from neighboring communities and brothers from both the minor and major seminary. Father Prabhakar who is the local superior welcomed the gathering for the blessing of the House and Father Mohan, the Administrator, thanked all those who had worked for the renovation of the House. There were fifty people present for the blessing. In his message, Father Michael Sahayaraj called this house as Wisdom house which would carry out the Spirituality of caring for the sick and old.
In his vote of thanks, Father Mohan thanked the Provincial, Bursar of the Province, the renovation committee, Engineer, the contractor and Laborers who worked hard for the renovation. It was a short and simple celebration and all were happy to witness the program. After the blessing all were invited for the sumptuous meal.
We thank the General Administration for granting us this project for the Indian Vice-Province. We thank the people who have worked for the realization of this project in a short time. We pray for all the donors who made this project possible for us.
